Roman Gardens, Castlefield
Welcome to the future, two thousand years ago. You're standing right in the heart of Roman Manchester, just outside the North Gate. But wait...
About the Project Creator
Castlefield Forum is a Community Group open to anyone who lives, works or has an interest in Castlefield. Our objectives are to preserve and improve the area to make it an even better place to live, work and visit.
You can contact the project team by emailing Calum McGowan on [email protected]
Calum heads up the local community team looking after the project. We have a healthy working group of 14 looking after the project and are indebted to BDP for their assistance with the Roman Gardens masterplan. The level of effort and commitment to draw up the plans, including all the nighttime modelling, has been outstanding. http://www.bdp.com/en/locations/uk/manchester/. We have also been helped by Manchester Garden City, who kicked things off for us: http://cityco.com/project/manchester-garden-city/
We meet around every 6 weeks or so, or more often when we have key activity going on. You're welcome to join us and we can give you a tour of the gardens and show you our plans. Drop us an email as above.
