Beach Wheelchair Access For Roker Beach

We got the timber clad maintenance free container installed in late September. We officially opened it on Monday the 10th of October, with our steering group partners from Headway Wearside and Sunderland Parent Carer Forum in attendance along with council representatives, local councillors and even the contractor. some chidlren from a local school tried out the hippocampe beach wheelchairs and the sun shone for us, lets hope that keeps up.

There's been more since then, we've taken possession of a brand new DeBug beach wheelchair and had a second hand hoist donated as well as a transfer device, both of which will be arriving when we have Volunteer training at the Marine Activities Centre next door on the 16th of February.
