The idea
The phone box in Rodmarton is dilapidated and an eyesore in the village. It is also in the wrong place if it was ever to be used as a community asset (for example to house a defibrillator or a book swap). The Council would like to relocate it to the Village Green next to the bus shelter and get it refurbished back to it's former glory.
What we'll deliver
- We will relocate the phonebox
- we will refurbish the phone box
- we will ask the community what they want to use it for in the future
Why it's a great idea
The newly refurbished phone box will become a heritage asset in the village. It will add to the overall aesthetic, rather than detract from it in its current sad state. It could also become a real benefit to the community, hosting either a defibrillator or a book swap.
Steps to get it done
- Relocate the phone box
- Refurbish the phone box
- Consult the community on the future purpose of the phone box
- Put that use into action
