Funding the welfare area of a free music festival for up to 18,000 NHS Staff and Key Workers on the Saturday and on the Sunday a festival to celebrate inclusion, diversity and equality.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We are organising a free music festival to thank the NHS Staff and Key Workers for everything that they are doing for us at present. We have been working with Sunderland Council and pending the relevant permits etc being granted we will be putting the festival on at Herrington Country Park on the 18th September 2021. As part of the weekend festival, we are going to have a welfare zone where people can get information and help surrounding mental health concerns. We are hoping to secure the funds for this part of the festival through this crowdfunding campaign.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This will give the staff of the NHS and Key Workers a proper thank you and something to look forwards to. I have already had a huge amount of positive feedback from various trusts as to the impact this is having to staff morale. Local firms will have the chance to be involved via sponsorship opportunities and also for local vendors to sell at the festival. The Sunday is a celebration of equality and diversity so we can bring people together and to celebrate what makes us unique. Alongside the festival we are setting up a welfare zone to allow people to get information as to where they can get help with any issues/concerns that they may have around mental health and we are also working with Dementia UK to be part of the zone and AKT who are involved in helping young people within the LGBTQ+ community who have been made homeless for various reasons.
Steps to get it done:
We have confirmed that Emeli Sandé, Karen Harding and Fat Tony will headline the Monument Stage and are in discussions with other big name artists at the moment for the line-up alongside of the local talent we are looking to work with. We have also added a DJ stage to the event and have big name DJs signing up to take part in the festival on the Saturday. The Sunday we have Republica, Toploader, Horsemeat Disco, Gok Wan, Ibiza In Symphony , Sam Dickinson, Wayne C McDonald and Amrik Channa confirmed so far
