More about our impact
The environment
This project sourced second hand props and equipment to be repurposed into the Storytent campsite where possible
Volunteering, jobs & education
This project provided 5 freelance contracts for emerging artists, including some who were brand new to the creative industries. It also provided work for 2 facilitators who enjoyed being able to develop the project from scratch. In addition, 35 x Year 8 students gained volunteering credits towards their compulsory hours by helping us to pack our takeaway goody bags
Arts, culture & heritage
The project provided creative, storymaking workshops across Walsall and the wider region. 16 sessions in Walsall plus one activity day for families. A further 4 sessions outside of Walsall.
Activity, health and leisure
The project offered free family activities in school holidays and across weekends, as well as working with local organisations to deliver sessions during the week for early years families. The holiday sessions helped to engage with families who cannot afford to do lots of activities throughout holiday periods due to the costs. Activities in the sessions included both movement based exercises and activities aimed at stimulating the imagination. The project promoted story making as an enjoyable, accessible activity that anyone can contribute to. The takeaway goody bags from each session were an opportunity to promote continued activity in the home and signpost to other activities
