Many participants were surprised and pleased to discover initiatives and groups with which they could get involved. Our stall holders, such as Ribble Rivers Trust, reported interest from potential volunteers.

The whole day was designed to open up imaginative responses to the climate and nature emergencies. Participants sketched, wrote and spoke creatively about the Ribble Valleyof 2030

Activity, health and leisure

The day stressed the power of individuals to organise in local interest groups to be active agents of change in their neighbourhoods. We heard about playground construction, tree planting, community gardening schemes etc. which all required hands on physical activity and mental well-being from working outdoors.
