The idea
This project aims to revitalise Thornhill's Rectory Park moat by clearing if of debris, replacing the old dipping platform and steps with a wider moat side area and seating. This will create an engaging and educational space for children. It will be an enjoyable spot for young explorers to immerse themselves in nature, discovering fish, tadpoles, and the joys of waterside adventures. This initiative combines environmental stewardship with a commitment to fostering curiosity and outdoor play, ensuring future generations can relish the simple pleasures of nature in our park and learn about the history of the medieval ruins on the island within the moat.
