Restoration of Goulceby Church published their Delivery Report!4 months ago
We aim to restore and modernise our village church, making it a comfortable and welcoming space both for services and community activities.
Goulceby Church needs repair, renovation and modernisation to make it a place for the whole village community to use and enjoy. We need to make it weatherproof, replaster the inside walls, replace the wiring and install new lighting and heating. We will create an area for community use and events, whilst leaving part of the church for worship and quiet reflection. This will provide a welcoming building for all the villagers and visitors to use, both now and in the future.

Why it's a great idea:
Our village currently has no community space for activities and events. We aim to transform the church into a place where villagers can meet, join in events, classes, or form interest groups. This in turn will bring the community together enhancing quality of life in a small village. It will also provide a comfortable and quiet place for walkers and visitors to rest.

Thanks to all our generous funders, our church is warm and well lit, with new wiring throughout. Over the summer, we are holding a couple of events, as well as church services, bringing our community together. The next phase of our restoration work will be the partial replastering of the walls. Regular coffee mornings and interest groups are planned for the village community.

VolunteerWe are the Friends of All Saints Church, Goulceby with one goal; to restore and modernise our village church for use as a community centre as well as a place for worship and quiet reflection. With this aim, we need to make the church weatherproof, rewire internally, replace the plastering and update the lighting and heating. Once the church is welcoming and comfortable, it can be used by the villagers for a wide range of events and activities.This will connect and integrate people into their local community and help to prevent social isolation and loneliness in our rural village.
