Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
By St Ives Town & Warboys Cricket Club
Whilst it remains doubtful about what cricket if any we will get in 2020, it will return at some stage. With your help we will be ready to offer opportunities for all irrespective of age or ability
By Re-invigorating cricket in St Ives and Warboys we will aim to re-engage existing players and attract new people to our club by: - subsidising winter indoor junior and adult training sessions to encourage wider participation - helping those who have suffered financial hardship by Covid-19 pandemic with reduced or free match fees and subscription rates - send in paid coaches into schools in advance of the 2021 season to deliver taster sessions and promote cricket - funding additonal coaches and the course they need to help out with training sessions - purchase of additional equipment to help with junior and adult training sessions and player development
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Re-invigorating cricket will deliver the following benefits: - promote cricket as a fun sport - promote healthy lifestyles - promote teamwork - help players develop new skills such as problem solving, batting, bowling and fielding - help players understand the need to play-hard whilst being fair, playing with integrity and being a good ambassador for the club - promote mental wellbeing through sport
