The idea
We have over 50 afghan refugees who we work to enable social cohesion and help integration within society.
Many of them have not seen a cricket match live but play with us on a weekly basis with the dream of watching a cricket game and cheering on their team at a world cup. They are good players with big hearts who are passionate about the game of cricket and bring their friends and family to play often.
What we'll deliver
- Happiness
Why it's a great idea
I am very passionate about the work I have been doing with refugees and with the local community. I have organised similar trips to local grounds but believe that the advent of the local world cup, after 20 years, and participation of Afghanistan, make this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of these boys to see their heroes and cheer their heroes from the stands. I already have the tickets from the ICC so only need help from generous backers.
Steps to get it done
- I will make sure I carry on serving the community as I have done over the past 13 years
