I am looking for support to fund a coach trip for Afghan refugees so they can watch their team play in the cricket world cup this year.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We have over 50 afghan refugees who we work to enable social cohesion and help integration within society. Many of them have not seen a cricket match live but play with us on a weekly basis with the dream of watching a cricket game and cheering on their team at a world cup. They are good players with big hearts who are passionate about the game of cricket and bring their friends and family to play often.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
I am very passionate about the work I have been doing with refugees and with the local community. I have organised similar trips to local grounds but believe that the advent of the local world cup, after 20 years, and participation of Afghanistan, make this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of these boys to see their heroes and cheer their heroes from the stands. I already have the tickets from the ICC so only need help from generous backers.
