I will be creating a space for local people of all ages to come and learn to make a quilt from recycled fabrics. This will provide them with specific skills and enable them to create something beautiful and practical.
The sessions will run twice a month for 12 months, 24 sessions in total.
The space will be in Huddersfield town centre to make it as accessible as possible.
The impact of Quilt Huddersfield will be to raise the profile of quilting in Huddersfield and to give people the opportunity to learn how to quilt.
I've run workshops before and they've always been popular, this shows there is demand for this resource locally.
I will be driving the project and will deliver and lead the sessions,
With the money raised I will deliver:
1. Deliver 24 quilting workshops
2. An exhibition of the quilts
3. A focus on reusing and recycling fabric.
4. Enable attendees to pass on specific sewing and quilting skills they've learnt.
