Cricket coaching can be quite expensive and out of reach for large parts of the community. We want to purchase essential equipment to start coaching children of club members and the wider community.
We are one of the newest members of Southeat Wales Saturday cricket league. This year we obtained approval to play Saturday league cricket with the use of a common council ground. Unfortunately COVID 19 struck and significantly impacted on our fund raising plans to implement our community service cricket project plans. Purchasing training equipment for childrens cricket that can be USED IN ANY SETTING was one of the plans we had in mind. We feel by offering this we can spread the benefits of cricket in our members' families, friends and immediate communities who may have thought Cricket was out of reach for them.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Cricket coaching can be quite expensive and out of reach for large parts of the community. Most of our members cannot afford high level training due to costs like net fees, 1:1 coaching. This situation is even worse for children. Most of our current members are from BAME community though we would love to welcome all, we currently do not have a high enough profile or our own cricket ground for example. Therefore we want to make the most of our limited circumstances by purchasing equipment that we need AND CAN USE IN ANY AVAILABLE SETTING, to offer coaching to children from any background in our community. We feel by offering this we can spread the benefits of cricket in our members' families, friends and immediate communities who may have thought Cricket was out of reach for them.
Steps to get it done:
Our members can go on to improve their skills and become ECB approved coaches. This would also improve their career opportunities and chances of employment in sports and physical education related fields of employment.
