By improving the toilet facilities in the village hall all user groups have benefitted including Art and Local History Groups.

Activity, health and leisure

Mother & Toddler groups and Yoga groups have already benefitted from the new state of the art facilities. The local Bridge Group are very appreciative of the improved facilities.

Pulford Village Hall was originally the property of the Eaton Estate and is understood to date back in the mid to late 1800s. For many years the village hall was leased from the Duke of Westminster's estate.

Prior to the First World War it was called the 'Reading Room' and this explains why its charitable status (508988) is listed as 'The Pulford Village Room'.

Records indicate a Management Committee was set up in the 1930s and three charity trustees appointed c.1970. The village hall was extended in 1970 when a kitchen and the existing toilets were added. The floor of the main hall was replaced by one removed from the Majestic Ballroom in Chester after the ballroom's closure.

A committee room was added in 1976 and recently renovated following a generous bequest from the late Lady Edna Wilson.

In 1998 the then Duke of Westminster presented the Village Hall to the Poulton and Pulford Parish Council

The Pulford Village Hall Management Committee supervises the running of the village hall for the Parish Council and holds regular meetings with the minutes available to review on the parish council website (www.poultonandpulfordparishcouncil.co.uk). The management committee reports back to the Charity Commission.

The current membership of the Management Committee is as below:
