The idea
Beat 103 Preston, registered as Preston Community Radio, needs new equipment for studio 2 to increase community participation. Options for volunteers are currently limited with just one operational studio. The station already operates with volunteers doing a variety of shows including a local school, a local music show, an 80's music show and more. Another operational studio and potentially outdoor broadcast equipment would expand the offer, to be able to recruit, train and involve more communities and diversify involvement.
What we'll deliver
- Expand operations of community radio
- Increase volunteering
- Share more diverse content with more communities
Why it's a great idea
A bigger variety of inner city and rural communities would be able to get involved with extra studio equipment. Diverse groups could increase confidence and skills with support from existing volunteers and program more content to reach a wider audience.
Steps to get it done
- Buy new equipment and install
- Advertise new volunteering opportunites
- Recruit new volunteers and get them involved
