The idea
With the news recently that the ECB have announced that that their will be no professional cricket until July, let alone amateur cricket. This leaves Albrighton CC with bills to pay and no income that can start coming in until at least that point.
The ECB will donate £100 to the cause once the fundraising hits £100. Albrighton CC has got statutory monthly bills and we have decided to set up a fund-raising site to help towards the costs of running the club.
We want to ensure there is a place for the whole community to come together to play and enjoy cricket. It will be more important than ever once this is all over!
We appreciate that not everyone associated with the club will be able to contribute but any help will be much appreciated in keeping the club afloat during this difficult time for everyone.
What we'll deliver
- Help to pay for critical overheads during COVID crisis
- Cover ground maintenance and key running costs
Why it's a great idea
The lockdown has had a huge impact on people's physical and mental well-being. Cricket is a great form of exercise for people of all ages and we want to be able to offer this again as soon as restrictions are lifted.
Our two Saturday XI`s and Social Sunday XI are chomping at the bit to get back in to action and at Albrighton CC we have a thriving junior section and ladies softball cricket squad and no doubt they will all be itching to play some cricket (and drink prosecco in the ladies case!) With your help we can restore some normality back to life. The idyllic summer scenes of cricket at our Kennel Lane ground and spectators enjoying the sunshine hopefully are not too far away.
Steps to get it done
- Covid-19 Emergency Fund
