The need to express is deeply embedded in us. The Playground was created to support and encouage this need.World class artists have created their work here and now we want to share this work with you.
The Playground is transforming to become a 150 seater public theatre. We will present international theatre , classical music concerts and film and a combination thereof. We believe in allowing artists the freedom to create their visions and to find that unique voice within them. When one looks at a Van Gogh painting or listens to a late Beethoven quartet their indelible hand is present. We also want to hear from people, not just theatre artists, within our local community and beyond, who would like to tell their story.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We have recently opened the front of house to include a cafe/bar and already it is becoming a community hub. People are becoming aware that we are creating a public theatre and we are receiving so many questions about our opening dates, what is the programme etc. Our visitors book is already full of requests for further information and we will create a much needed boost to the cultural life of this area.
Steps to get it done:
The Playground is committed to accessibility and affordable ticket pricing and to those within our community and beyond who have a story to tell but currently lack a voice in theatre. Creating opportunities is at the core of what we do and will be reflected in our programming choices, casting, and creative appointments. Simply, we believe that passionate, engaged, and exceptional theatre should be affordable and accessible to all. We are relying on the support of our local community to deliver The Playground Theatre. We welcome contributions of any amount, but would like to offers some incentives to those who donate: TICKETS TO SHOWS £50 donation - 1 ticket for a performance of your choice £100 donation - 3 tickets for a performance of your choice £200 donation - 8 tickets for a performance of your choice £500 donation - 10 tickets for two performances of your choice SINGING MASTERCLASS WITH WEST END COACH £250 donation ACTING MASTERCLASS WITH OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTORS £250 donation

Whoop, 120 people have pledged since fundraising began!
We are delighted to announce our inaugural performance - "Picasso" by Terry d'Alfonso will run at The Playground Theatre from November 1st until November 25th. Directed by Terry Hunt and starring Peter Tate, "Picasso" is an engaging study of the character of the great artist - a genius? a monster? or perhaps both? Picasso once wrote: "Love is the greatest refreshment in life". His greatest love was his art, and no woman could ever compare, yet he could not live without them. Tickets are now available from our new website: www.theplaygroundtheatre.london We look forward to welcoming you to The Playground Theatre
Dear all - thankyou so much for your support so far in helping us renovate an old bus depot on Latimer Road into a fully-functioning 150 seater theatre. We have now moved into the final two weeks of crowdfunding for the project. Do please spread the word in any way you can as we still need to raise more monies. The Spacehive website link is below. Many thanks - The Playground Theatre team www.spacehive.com/playgroundtheatre
