The idea
Plant Eatery’s vision has a clear desire to bring the concept of living plant based food into healthy food dishes & juices. Most of the produce will be grown in the UK/EU and at some local allotments. The vision is to give the people of Brixton the experience about how good local grown foods taste. Nowadays there are a lot of imported foods that come into Brixton, so our objective is to raise awareness to show how we can use more seasonal foods to make healthy dishes that serve the community better. The Pop up stall has a goal to be based in this area because of its enriching growing community and the developing interest from individuals who are supporting this area. The goal is to create more enthusiasm of trying local produce and being able to have the opportunity to have a pop up stall that sources local seasonal fruit and veg. Our allotments are based in the Croydon area, where we grow seasonal lettuce, salad leaves, potatoes, herbs, cucumbers, beetroots, carrots and so much more.
What we'll deliver
- Empowering adults and children that food can be grown locally and shared by our community in a sustainable way
- Mobile Truck, delivering Seasonal and local farmed produce and prepared meals to individuals in the Brixton Community
- Provide ongoing plant based food to Brixton’s Local Community
- Create a loyalty scheme so that the community benefits from local food
- Create a Vegetable allotment exchange network with Croydon allotments and surrounding areas
- Grow more local seasonal produce
Why it's a great idea
We see that Brixton would benefit from this type of pop up market stall. Plant Eatery believes in locally sourced and grown food to be shared with the community to raise the interest and popularity of what we want to achieve, because it hasn’t been done before in this area. We feel that in Brixton there is not enough appreciation and information about locally sourced produce and home grown foods. With also obesity on the rise, due to unhealthy food choices, Plant Eatery is ready for the challenge to help educate the people on the importance of healthy food!
With so much of our foods being imported nowadays, we would like to show how successful our stall would be based on using more locally sourced and grown seasonal foods that provides nutritional dishes and juices etc.
However in Brixton it feels there is not enough of them on our high streets, so we want to be able to bring food produce from local farms and allotments, and then put that into our lovely menu of healthy goodness!

We are passionate and highly driven individuals whose love for food is concentrated in producing delicious healthy dishes. Because I myself have seen family members become ill with diabetes and arthritis, which are contributing factors that come from unhealthy lifestyle and food choices, this was the motivation and incentive for 'Plant Eatery'. We want to make a difference by helping to educate and share healthy food, so that more people can have a choice of healthily options that removes foods, consisting of trans fats, oils, starches and sugary items in their diet. These types of foods are known to cause problems in young children and adults. A lot of the time it is to do with lack of education. We believe our concept is truly unique because it's merging the local community and empowering people to eat healthier! We would also like in the near future to work with closely with schools in the local area to help teach children how to grow vegetables!
