More about our impact
The environment
Encouraging both the participants and the Place2Play leaders to cycle or walk to every session, thus lowering the carbon footprint of the project and continuing to keep everyone fit and active. Further to this, by putting our stamp on local park and open spaces we have been able to decrease and deter antisocial groups from using the spaces and have given the local families a safe space to play in.
The local economy
Place2Play has provided over 200 participants across 5 boroughs with over 18 hours of free weekly sports activities. Often engaging many inactive families, we act as a gentle and friendly introduction into sport and we then introduce families to our partner clubs or other local services and businesses. Training Parents and volunteers up as coaches and activities leaders also creates for more career avenues
Volunteering, jobs & education
We have also given interested participants information on how to become a coach or a youth worker and other inspirational leadership roles in their local community. This process has been a successful one as we have had three volunteers throughout the duration of this project, one of which is now undertaking paid work with the trust due to the skills they have developed shadowing and assisting staff on the Place2Play project.

Activity, health and leisure
Much of the session delivery was deliberately designed to use as little equipment as possible. This was further supported by us producing a games manual that contains easily replicable games. Therefore parents are more likely to repeat games in their free time. Thus continually improving participant’s health and wellbeing. over the course of the program, it was found that 70% of families answered that they strongly agreed to the Place2Play sessions benefiting their child’s physical, social and mental development.
