This project was funded on 30 Sep 2016!

Since launching our liquid food bar and piloting our 'Juice Academy', we've reached out to over 500 community members under the age 16, teaching them about healthier alternatives to readily available and widely advertised sugary beverages.

With your pledges we can increase our outreach and create even greater impact, by adding the 3rd element to our work, a market, to sell the delicious, fresh fruit and veg we grow on our allotment and to share the brilliant new flavour combinations we create at our academy. This is our opportunity to teach locals how to grow/cook/sell their own food products with our Fruitful Juice Academy.

The market will be run by our allotment and academy goers who are an incredibly diverse mix of ages, ethnicities and incomes. It'll teach them valuable small business and organisational skills whilst making healthy and affordable drinks for all the local community to benefit from.

What we'll deliver:

  • Improve our allotment with new growing equipment to sustain market demand
  • Design and plan future academy and allotment programmes
  • Organise licences, parking permits, and market stall arrangements
  • Design and Purchase marketing materials and merchandise
  • Website makeover to help increase our outreach
  • Promote all opportunities via radio, internet, flyers
  • Launch the Pop Up Market Place and invite all backers for a free juice!

Why it's a great idea:

t's hard for new social good businesses to get off the ground, even though they often have the best solutions to local problems because they experience them first hand. The marketplace is a great opportunity for other entrepreneurs to come together and make a direct impact on their community whilst enhancing the local economy

The market will help raise our profile, enabling us to reach the wider community, providing them a healthy and nutritious alternative whilst creating voluntary and self employment opportunities for a minimum of 20 young people.

The market will also help up to promote our allotment programmes and academy, helping us to empower more families to grow make and sell their own cheap vegetable and fruit products.

Please pledge to nutrate and educate Brent!

Steps to get it done:

  • Increase awareness of the market plans; promote online, improve website
  • Improve allotment spaces; new vegetable beds, different seeds, upgrade equipment
  • Purchase market equipment; tables, covers, flyers, pull up banners,
  • Purchase collective insurance cover for all stall holders
  • Purchase License from council
  • Rent storage space
  • Launch the pop up market and invite all backers along for a free healthy juice to celebrate!

Monies raised through the market will go towards sustaining the Juice Academy and allotments which will help youth become responsible consumers and also enabling older residents to enjoy the therapeutic side to green spaces.

Produce grown and not used will be offered to low income families who find it hard to purchase healthy food.

Seeds from produce will be recycled for new crops and any waste will be composted to help grow more.
