The idea
Covid-19 is a threat to us and to our community. We provide cricket for all regardless of gender or ability and allow anyone to enjoy watching cricket in a lovely setting.
Maintaining our facilities costs money. We are grateful for the support received from EHDC & Petersfield Town Council but with Covid-19 we have lost a significant amount of subscription income and with no coaching or matches we have no match fees or bar takings. The club is run by volunteers, but there are costs whether we are playing cricket or not (including costs for winter nets).
We want to raise money to cover the costs of running the club; to provide equipment so we are in a strong position once we can restart. We were hoping to receive a boost following last years’ world cup win.
All money raised through this scheme will help us to inspire our current, new and returning cricketers in the community. We also want to run a Family Club Day to help reinforce the message that we are a part of our community.
What we'll deliver
- Cover overheads related to COVID-19
- Equipment to support provision of cricket for youngsters
- Family / Community Club Day
Why it's a great idea
Petersfield Cricket Club is at the heart of our community and provides cricket facilities for people throughout the community. We are particularly proud of what we can offer our young cricketers and we need to do all we can to help ensure that we are still able to provide opportunities in the future.Covid-19 is already having a disproportionate negative effect on young people and it would be a dreadful shame if they were not able to engage with cricket through Petersfield Cricket club in the future. With your help we can survive and thrive and help youngsters in the future. With your help, we will be open again as soon as possible once it is safe to do so.
Steps to get it done
