The past year has been very challenging not only health wise, but also socially, emotionally and physically; we want to facilitate reconnection in the local community, by organising a family fun day of free activities for children of all ages and their families (birth - 99yrs). Everyone will be welcome, anyone visiting the park can come and find us, join in the fun and maybe take away an amazing prize from our toy tombola. We will have games, sports activities, temporary tattoos, arts and crafts activities, face painting and many more. Water and healthy snacks will be provided during the event. This will all be done all in a safe environment. Following any guidelines we will ensure antibacterial hand gel is available for all. Please help us make this family fun day happen!
What we'll deliver:
- Family fun
- Face painting
- Sports activities
- Games for children
- Arts and crafts activities
- Water and snacks
- Books for children and young people
- Enjoyable time in nature
Why it's a great idea:
Since the school holidays will be coming to an end, a party is a great way to bring the community together to build on the memories of a great summer. The event is open to the public and anyone can join free of charge.
We will take all necessary precautions for this to be a safe space, following government guidelines on social distancing and any other advice in effect at the time of the event.
Steps to get it done:
- Raise the funds
- Advertise the event
- Prepare for the day
The Summer Party is the finale of our Summer Programme of trips and activities for families who are homeless or living in temporary unsuitable accommodation. Many of the families we are working with are surviving on incomes derived from poorly paid work and/or benefits. We are trying to offer the little extras to families, those extras that many take for granted but that are often denied to the families we work with. If you would like to offer your support for the Summer Programme, please contact us at tina@sbfp.org or beatrice@sbfp.org.
