Our project involves two key components: 1. **Construction of Accessible Pathways:** - **Specific Features:** We will build a 30-meter smooth, durable path from the Wood Lane vehicle gate to a new seating area. This path will be designed to accommodate wheelchairs and will feature clear signage to guide visitors. - **Location:** The pathway will run along the Wood Lane hedgerow, providing easy access to a tranquil part of Parkfields. 2. **Creation of an Accessible Seating Area:** - **Specific Features:** At the end of the new path, we will establish a seating area with a wheelchair-friendly picnic table. This area will be designed for ease of access and comfort, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the surroundings. - **Location:** The seating area will be situated in a peaceful section of Parkfields, offering a perfect spot for gatherings, picnics, and quiet reflection.

What we'll deliver:

  • A smooth tarmac 30 metre long path leading to
  • new seating and wheelchair friendly table
  • Signs

Why it's a great idea:

The "Accessible Seating Area and Pathways at Parkfields" project is a transformative initiative aimed at making Parkfields an inclusive, welcoming space for everyone in our community. By creating accessible pathways and a dedicated seating area, we ensure that individuals with limited mobility can fully enjoy the natural beauty and serenity of Parkfields.

Steps to get it done:

  • To create a 30 metre smooth path from gate to location for seating
  • To create hard standing for the seating/ picnic table
  • To purchase and position the seats /picnic table
  • To complete publicity and signage

Inclusive Access:** Our goal is to make Parkfields accessible to all, including those with mobility challenges. The new pathways and seating area will ensure that everyone can navigate the park with ease and comfort. By widening the use of the field we plan to increase community awareness of the important environmental work that is taking place on the field - with more support more will be achieved.
