Updates
On Wednesday we had the grand opening of the stage, the Mayor of Islington cut the ribbon and it is now only up to the children how they want to use it. Again, this would not have been possible without all your support, we are incredibly proud that every penny raised have gone to the materials for the stage. Building it has been a long winded volunteering exercise but we finally got there and we think it is a truly enjoyable little structure. THANK YOU!
Dear All, the IPA is planning to complete the stage build on Saturday November 19th, so volunteers are needed from 11am. Please email Marie Forde [email protected] to let her know if you can join us. Help is needed, we really want to see it complete that day!
Dear Backers, the children have demolished the existing stage and apparently it was a glorious day of lots of exciting creepy crawlies appearing from underneath the structure. Materials have now arrived to the nursery and we are grateful for this good whether and hope it remains as the construction is now starting. Over the next couple of weeks we have arranged several build days and will update you as much as possible!
We are extremely excited about having reached the fundraising target and are now finalising the deatils of the project. Last week the design team met with the nursery staff, representatives from Islington Play Association and the facilities manager that will take the lead during the construction as well as parents that are volunteering. We discussed buildability, detailing, material use and also including the children in the construction process to make sure they get proper ownership over the pavilion. The final drawings are to be produced over the next couple of weeks - thank you again for your support - we will keep you posted on progress! All the best, Siri
