The idea
We propose a new intervention piece which sits in our north London community, and acts as a visual reminder of our transport heritage - the end result will feature a trompe l'oeil effect - creating a pseudo train station on the side of an existing structure (an old electricity sub station). This installation will endorse the existing memorial created by Sustrans in 2012, and embellish the former site of a Great Eastern Railway Company railway.

What we'll deliver
- Create an artwork on the side of an old brick building to commemorate the romance of train journeys
Why it's a great idea
London's heritage is being eroded every day. This artwork seeks to restore the emotion of days gone by. It will sit in the public domain, and bring a touch of visual splendour, and escapism to those who pass it by. And as with all our projects, it will make people smile.
Steps to get it done
- A few days of design; manually cutting stencils; one day of painting.
We have been granted permission to create this artwork from both UK Power Networks and Haringey Council.
