PACSO are a local charity providing play and social activities for children with disabilities in West Sussex. Established in 1999 as the Parents and Carers Support Organisation, we aim to provide respite for families, and help reduce isolation for disabled children. We currently support over 367 families locally.
Outside of lockdown, we run afterschool clubs, toddler groups, weekend and holiday playdays, work experience and trips out for children and young people aged 0-25; as well as family events. We are inclusive, and will support all children no matter how complex their needs. We also welcome siblings to many of our events; helping them to have fun and form friendships with other young carers.
Since the covid-19 pandemic, we have provided over 176 hours of online support for young people, and delivered personalised messages to 129 children. We have createdvirtual activity packs to 367 families, and delivered weekly resilience evenings for parent/carers.
