Updates
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
On the hottest May Day I've ever experienced - some wonderful news about the OVERSPILL project... We are well over half way to accruing all the funding needed for the FIRST DROP. Thanks to Kate, Julia, Simon, Mike and Pete for their incredible support at the BAROQUE TO ROCK music quiz earlier this year. The proceeds of £980 from this quiz have now been added to the OVERSPILL project budget and I will be updating later this week with more good news. Meantime PLEASE KEEP SPREADING THE WORD and link to our SpaceHive page. We need a big push now to get to the finishing line (does it help if we put the finishing line in the sea?)
Great news today - the OVERSPILL project has received a pledge of £5290 from the KCC Public Health team. We are celebrating with a pics of the Kent Downs chalk horse in several different chalky colours that depicts the Downs underwater. We are truly excited about this news as it brings us to the closer £17,016 target we have to reach by mid-June. And will be posting about a couple of other strands of income that have been pledged early next week. We also have current bids in with Arts Council, The Curry Fund and Hythe Town Council which will support the project. NB. Meantime - we need to reach £17,016 in order to access the KCC pledge, and we have a way to go yet. PLEASE KEEP SHARING.
Hello friends and supporters of OVERSPILL. This is by way of a quick update about the OVERSPILL project and our next steps. So far (and all courtesy of you wonderful people) we have raised £326.91 in cash via the SpaceHive machine. THANK YOU. Plus we have raised £980 via a music quiz and have a pledge from Roger De Hahn Foundation for £1,000 (NB. This pledge is conditional on attracting ACE funding). We are currently awaiting the decision on an ACE application - which according to their 14-week turn around pledge - should be with us by 18 June. We have been pursuing funding of up to £10,000 from Kent County Council to enable full first phase delivery of the OVERSPILL project. Unfortunately recent SpaceHive communications indicate that we have been unsuccessful in attracting KCC funds. So we are currently working with a considerably smaller budget than originally anticipated. But we can confirm that the current £1,126.91 we have available to us for this project will be spent on delivery of several outdoor workshops that are in line with the project ambitions. We would love to keep you touch with the project, so if you are not already on our database and would like to keep in touch, please do email us at [email protected]
