Summerfield Park is situated in Winson Green, Birmingham. The park is home to a beautiful, old bandstand which is over 100 years old! The event will bring the local community together for a summer celebration.

Join us from 1pm until 6pm where we will be hosting an afternoon of music on the bandstand. We will also have a Health Zone, Children's Zone, Arts & Crafts Zone, Sports Zone and Games Zone at the event.

The day of free music will be headlined by local legends the Gabbidon Band.

We are working in partnership with Active Parks, Summerfield Residents Association, Summerfield Soho Youth Project and Newstyle Radio 98.7FM.

What we'll deliver:

  • Deliver an Our Big Gig event at Summerfield Park
  • Programme free live musical performances
  • Offer free activities for adults, families and children
  • Provide a market place for stall holders
  • Provide drinks and refreshment stalls

Why it's a great idea:

Since 2013, over 380,000 people have attended 520 Our Big Gig events which have seen a wide variety of musical activities take place in a range of community spaces. This year Ladywood Arts Forum and Summerfield Park want to be part of this national initiative.

Steps to get it done:

  • We have regular planning meetings
  • We will use our past experience of hosting a similar events
  • We will use social media to promote our event and project
  • Promotional support from Newstyle Radio 98.7FM
  • We have an organising committee
  • We have knowledge of local musicians and performers
