We would like to renovate an unused external space into a multi-purpose outdoor classroom and provide an outdoor learning environment for local groups and a safe space for community activities.
We are raising funds to repair & renovate an outdoor space of our community center so that we can host outdoor events and social activities for the local community. Meeting outdoors is the safest place during the pandemic and we want to create a comfortable and welcoming space for our community to come together in a safe way. NW7hub has always worked to alleviate social isolation in Mill Hill & the surrounding areas. This outdoor space will be key to continuing our work, in particular for members of the community without internet access who can't join our online events. We have obtained quotes for new decking and an awning, for a total of £5,000. Anything raised above £5,000 will be spent on outdoor furnishing and the costs of running the initial outdoor activities. Refurbishing this space will also allow access to an extra entrance to the building, via the decking, meaning it will be possible to create a more workable one-way system for indoor activities (when restrictions allow).
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project will benefit all users (of all ages) of our community center particularly children and young people. We aim to tackle social isolation, increase confidence and create a safe environment for all to enjoy outdoors. As the world adapts, post covid, the need for usable and safe outdoor space increases, and this project will make a huge difference to our users.
