The idea
Help us to make Northchapel play park inclusive to all children.
We would like to introduce a wheelchair inclusive roundabout to the play park in Northchapel & enable any child within our community & surrounding areas to be able to come & have fun at our park.
The community of Northchapel is very fortunate to have a much-loved play park used by many local residents & also is a favourite park to visit by people from outside the village too.
During the pandemic the play park became an even more important place for families to escape to. Community playgrounds provide children the opportunity to practice and hone key skills including social, emotional, cognitive and physical. Children are constantly learning through play—making new friends, sharing, taking turns and interacting with other children.
What we'll deliver
- Install wheelchair inclusive roundabout
Why it's a great idea
As well as benefitting any local families & people who live very close by, a wheelchair inclusive roundabout will mean that any families with wheelchair users will be able to come to our play park & all be able to make use of this piece of equipment.
Steps to get it done
- Book the work in to be done & the groundworks can start for the installation of the roundabout.
- Roundabout can be in place to be enjoyed by the children over the summer.
The Parish Council made some essential repairs to existing equipment in the Autumn but we would still like to continue to improve the park & also to introduce the first piece of wheelchair inclusive equipment. This is long overdue. Every child should be able to experience fun & introducing a roundabout to our park will mean that no child will be excluded.
