Replace tired, heavy and mismatched furniture, including heavy trestles, stacking tables, old uncomfortable chairs for more practical, comfortable and appealing tables and chairs
We have a small but valuable space for our village community to gather and enjoy each other's company. We have lots of events, the most popular and ones which cross all age groups within the community are often food based. Curry nights, Murder mystery dinners, afternoon teas and Harvest suppers. We would really like to have some new tables and chairs, which will be easy to move, store and look attractive to the users and potential hirers. At the moment we have a collection of very old, heavy and tired tables including huge wooden trestles which take 2 or 3 people to setup each time we want to use them. They are difficult to store and when setting out difficult to dress to look appealing. The chairs we have are old, shabby and cold with a collection of homemade cushions just to try to keep people warm and comfortable when they sit.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The main thing new tables and chairs will bring is a sense of pride in the hall and its upkeep. We have done our best through volunteers to decorate the inside of the main hall, put up new matching curtains, This would add another visible aspect that we care for the hall and the community who use it. It could make the hall more appealing to local hirers, everything now looks so tired, This would enable us to get more revenue to help maintain the hall.
