We run 18 music ensembles for young people. To enable them to make music with quality instruments and equipment we wish to purchase a portable store to keep instruments secure at a rehearsal venue.
The venues currently used for North Somerset Centre for Young Musicians ensembles is limited to those that can offer us some storage for instruments and equipment. Less and less venues can do this and those that currently do cannot offer anything extremely secure, watertight or insulated. Therefore the 'best' instruments and equipment are kept off site and usage is either limited or tranposrt costs wasteful. With a secure storage unit that could be relocated as changes in demand suggest moving venues to best meet needs we could ensure groups meet in the most accessible places, and provide them with high quality instruments and equipment that would be permanently on site. The storage unit could be decorated with the names of all donors (with their consent) to recognise their generosity.

We strive to enable young people to have positive high quality musical learning experiences. Having access to quality instruments and equipment at their weekly workshops and rehearsals will benefit the young people that currently attend. It will also make the sessions more attractive to young people who do not currently engage, increasing the reach of our ensemble provision. Engaging musically with other young people in high quality music making and learning scenarios is extremely beneficial to children and young people. Not only do they develop musically but also socially and intellectually. A store that can be relocated as demographics dictate will enable young musicians to access suitable equipment and get the maximum benefit from their musical ensemble engagement.

You have done it! Congratulations and thank you. We will now be able to securely store decent quality instruments, particularly percussion at one of our NSCYM sites so that the young musicians play each week on quality equipment. We have actually gone slightly over our target so we will use the additional money to buy some more equipment for them as well. Thank you!

VolunteerNorth Somerset Music Service leads nsmusic4you the music education hub for the North Somerset area. nsmusic4you conisists of amazing partners including Lions Brass 4 Youth, Weston Youth Orchestra and Churchill Music working to provide the very best musical experiences for young people.
The Music Service provides insturmental and vocal lessons in schools, whole class instrumental tuition, CPD for teachers, multicultural workshops and leads a thriving singing culture in Primary Schools.
The Music Service's ensemble arm is called the North Somerset Centre for Young Musicians. There are 18 ensembles that meet weekly during term time, from beginners bands to symphony orchestras and from Big Bands to pop and rock groups.
Project Owner: North Somerset Music Service The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
