ARTification is a registered charity that has served the Acton community since 2003. It delivers its services from two Acton based centres; the W3 Gallery opposite Morrisons and the Pavillion in North Acton Playing Fields. From these two centres and in outreach throughout Ealing ARTification brings together an extensive network of local arts, heritage, community and cultural organisations and groups to create innovative and empowering community art, greening projects and food and musical experiences that empower, stimulate, unite and enthral local residents of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, faiths, genders and skills levels.
From the high street location of W3 Gallery and park setting of the Pavilion we run a number of ventures including:
- Cultural, environment and community arts projects
- Community engagement programme
- Themed visual arts exhibitions
- Events, gatherings and social engagement
- Co-creation of street and public art
- Growing and cooking food
Our better known projects are the annual Acton carnival and the street art dotted around the borough but most notably in South Acton Gardens. We work in partnership with local schools, youth clubs, community and faith groups and local artists to ensure our work is rooted in the community.
The Pavillion and the surrounding land in North Acton Playing Fields we believe has a welath of potential to become a vibrant cultural hub. It has space for cookery, art and craft classes, a cafe and outdoor space for vegetable and herb gardening and outdoor social events.
The first stage is to create the vegetable beds and raise funds to open the cafe and to launch an exciting programme of cookery, gardening and arts and craft workshops. Following on from this the next stage will be to develop and support a community of crafters and gardeners who will create, share and sell produce at a weekly Saturday market held outside the Pavillion.
Building on from this we will be nurturing entrepreneurship and supporting enterprise by designing and launching an online shop selling a range of locally produced goods.
