The One City Fund provides a simple way of supporting the city’s efforts to protect vulnerable residents during the pandemic, so no-one gets left behind. This crowdfunding initiative is a collaboration between organisations in the city, such as the City of Wolverhampton Council and Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council (WVSC) and aims to support individuals in the city who are struggling during the current coronavirus pandemic. Phase three of the project aims to raise £10,000 for charities throughout the city supporting the homeless, including; the Good Shepherd Ministry, the Haven Refuge, P3, Solace and the Alternative Giving Campaign. Due the success of the previous phases, Wolverhampton Homes have already pledged £5,000 support the campaign. Wolverhampton Homes are an Arm’s Length Management Organisation that manage 22,000 homes on behalf of the Council.

What we'll deliver:

  • £10 pays for a Food Parcel to support a homeless person.
  • £15 pays for a Temporary Accommodation Starter Pack.
  • £50 pays for an Emergency Bed Space for a night.
  • £55 pays for a Basic Tenancy Starter Kit.
  • £250 funds a Weekly Placement in Temporary Accommodation.

Why it's a great idea:

Since the Covid-19 crisis began, organisations in the city have gone above and beyond to support those who were at risk due to rough sleeping or facing the threat of homelessness. The organisations this fund supports are a vital lifeline for many. They go far beyond providing shelter, supporting people to overcome other issues such as substance misuse and mental health problems. This crowdfunding campaign will provide an important boost for the network of support for homeless individuals and families in the city, helping them to continue operating and supporting people who literally have nowhere else to go.

Steps to get it done:

  • Raise funds for organisations across the city supporting vulnerable people
