Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
By East Worthing Community Centre
We would like a continuation of the soft play area around the building, particularly for the pre-school who play outside daily, as required by OFSTED.
We will find out if we've got planning permission for the project in the coming weeks. If we don't get it, then the campaign will be cancelled and no pledges will be collected. Improvements to the outside of the building benefit all the users of the centre. This surface would make it safer for the children to play on, the current uneven concrete surface is unforgiving if children fall over while playing. The new safety surface, like a playground in a park, has the advantage of allowing rain water to soak through, leaving no residue or puddles, hence reducing the chance of anyone slipping over. A lot of work has recently been carried out by the pre-school to make the garden area a pleasant place to sit or play and this addition would complete it.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The centre is a hub that is open to the community for all types of events and for those occasions when using the outside area, this safety surface has got to be a huge improvement to the facilities that we offer.
