Anglesey Food Bank provides essential support to people across Ynys Môn facing financial hardship and food insecurity. Each week, we deliver emergency food to individuals and families who cannot reach us due to isolation, poor transport links or mobility issues. To do this, we rely on a delivery van. Our current vehicle is no longer reliable, and without a replacement we risk being unable to reach some of the most vulnerable people in our community. As a rural island, many areas are difficult to access, making a dependable van essential to our work. We are raising funds to purchase a new van so we can continue delivering food, collecting donations and supporting people with dignity. As part of this campaign, we are inviting the community to help “Name the Van” — bringing people together to support a vital service.

Why it's a great idea:
A new delivery van will ensure we can continue reaching people across Anglesey who are unable to access our foodbank in person. For many, particularly those in rural or isolated areas, delivery is the only way they can receive support. The van will enable us to deliver emergency food reliably, collect donations from local supermarkets, and transport supplies efficiently across the island. This will reduce missed deliveries, improve volunteer safety, and allow us to respond more quickly to people in crisis. It will also help us maintain dignity for those we support, providing a discreet and dependable service. Beyond practical benefits, this project brings the community together. Through our “Name the Van” campaign, local people, families and schools can play a part in supporting their neighbours and strengthening community connection.

VolunteerAnglesey Food Bank is a local charity supporting individuals and families across Ynys Môn who are experiencing financial hardship, food insecurity or crisis. We provide emergency food parcels through a referral network of local organisations including schools, health services and community groups.
Alongside food provision, we offer practical support and signposting to help people access wider services and move forward from crisis. Our work is delivered by a small staff team supported by a dedicated network of volunteers.
Operating in a rural island community, we play a vital role in reaching people who may otherwise be isolated or unable to access support.
