The idea
Saturday 11th July, Free to attend. Come along and try a session of music therapy at 12.30 or 1.30 or just come along share in the inspiration that is Alive Inside at 2.30. The film shows the power of music on the human mind and explains the neurological science that we are hard-wired at birth to feel the beat (literally our heart beats) and the area of the brain that responds music, is one of the last areas of the brain to succumb to Alzheimer'
After the film we will be joined by a music therapist who will lead group sessions of music therapy. Music can help you get better…and music therapists are well-trained on how to do that.
Music therapy may help some people fight depression, Researchers sized up data from five previously published studies, four of which found that participants receiving music therapy were more likely to see a decrease in depression symptoms and reduced anxiety.

Why it's a great idea
We are aim to demonstrate music can make you feel better and show the science behind this claim. For people in the depths of depression counselling can just be too much, music therapy removes this barrier by providing gentle sessions where the participants can create their own healing soundtrack allowing time to develop their motivation and inclination to engage.

- The right people are on hand to introduce the film and to deliver the music therapy sessions
- Promotion, Make sure local people know about the event, tell local press and radio
Music is one of the only activities that activates, stimulates and uses the entire Brain.
The films and the sessions will be accessible and leave people feeling inspired and uplifted.
