This new crowdfunding programme from Tamworth Borough Council and Spacehive is an opportunity for organisations to deliver meaningful and impactful projects in our community. We are looking for ideas that build and promote good relationships in our neighbourhoods and strengthen bonds between people of all backgrounds and ages. We want these projects to strengthen resilience to hate and intolerance and promote cohesion and understanding across our community.

As part of this programme the council has two funds available to support crowdfunding campaigns. The funds can support both capital and revenue elements.

1) Community Recovery Fund

  • 90k revenue budget - up to £5k per project, capped at 50% of the campaign target
  • £75k capital budget - up to £10k per project, capped at 50% of the campaign target

2) Community Infrastructure Levy Fund

  • £30k capital fund -  up to £5k per project, capped at 50% of the campaign target

If a project requires both revenue and capital funding, the council can contribute from both funds, up to a maximum of £20,000, no more than 65% of the campaign target.

* The council reserves the right to pledge higher amounts at its discretion.

** Pre-campaign funds and In-kind support are not included in the calculation of the council percentage pledge.

Launch a program in local schools where kids can take dance lessons for free. Many children want to learn how to dance but can’t afford the costs, so this program will help them enjoy dance without worrying about money. To celebrate their progress and talent, we will organize a big showcase in a beautiful theater. This event will bring together students from all schools in Tamworth, allowing them to perform and share their love for dance with friends and family. It will be a great opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy the joy of dance!

Tamworth Pride is more than just a festival – it’s a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies to come together in joy, visibility, and community. Each year, we create a vibrant day filled with live music, performances, and activities that highlight local talent and bring our community closer together. But Pride doesn’t just happen – it takes funding to make it safe, accessible, and unforgettable. With your help, we can cover the costs of staging, entertainment, security, accessibility support, and community outreach. Every pound raised will go directly into creating a festival that Tamworth can be proud of. Together, we can make Tamworth Pride 2025 our biggest and best yet – a true celebration of who we are and how far we’ve come.

This project focuses on volunteer-driven grassroots conservation in Tamworth, where five dedicated groups work tirelessly to maintain and improve local nature reserves. Through their efforts, Broad Meadow LNR, Tameside LNR, Warwickshire Moor LNR, Hodge Lane LNR, and Dosthill Park LNR thrive as havens for wildlife and community enjoyment. The initiative seeks funding to enhance these green spaces by acquiring materials to improve the sites for people and wildlife, for example wildflowers, trees, benches, and boardwalk materials. In collaboration with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, the groups receive essential support in volunteer recruitment, health and safety, insurance, and coordination with Tamworth Borough Council. Together, they strive to enrich biodiversity and create welcoming natural environments that balance the needs of people and wildlife. This project underscores the importance of safeguarding local ecosystems while fostering community engagement and connection with nature.

EnviroVision
EnviroVision joined We are Tamworth5 days ago

Vision Football Factory is a community football facility supporting young people, families, and local groups through sport and physical activity. We are seeking funding to install a secure bike shelter and additional waste and recycling bins at our site. Currently, there is no cycle storage, limiting sustainable travel options. The bike shelter will encourage visitors to cycle, promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing congestion and emissions. Increased usage of the facility has also led to littering challenges, which additional bins will help address. This project will improve access, promote environmental responsibility, and create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming space for the hundreds of people who use our facility each week, while supporting our wider goal of becoming a more sustainable community hub.

The project focuses on improving and redesigning key areas of the farm and adjacent forest to create a safer, more stimulating environment for children and adults. This enhanced space will provide opportunities for participants to engage with farm animals, learn about animal care, develop teamwork skills, understand environmental considerations, and support diverse needs. The farm serves as an inclusive haven for educational and community involvement, and this project aims to ensure its continued enrichment and safety.
