Hensell Goat Rescue Care Farm CIC based near the seaside village of Sutton on Sea is a community-focused organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for neglected or abandoned goats and other farm animals. Our mission extends beyond animal welfare—we provide therapeutic, educational, and inclusive opportunities for individuals and groups within the community. As a Community Interest Company, we are driven by the goal of making a positive difference in people’s lives through the healing power of animals, particularly for those with mental health challenges, disabilities, or those facing social isolation.

Our farm serves as a sanctuary not only for animals but also for individuals seeking a safe, calming, and supportive environment. We offer a range of animal-assisted therapy programs, educational workshops, and volunteer opportunities that cater to a wide variety of participants, including children, vulnerable adults, and local schools. We believe that interacting with animals in a natural, peaceful setting can provide numerous mental health and emotional benefits, such as reduced stress, increased emotional resilience, and improved well-being.

We are running this campaign to raise funds for the construction of a multi-purpose visitor barn, which will enable us to expand our offerings and operate year-round. Currently, many of our activities are dependent on favorable weather, which limits our ability to provide consistent support. With a barn, we can create a dedicated space for therapy sessions, educational programs, community events, and workshops, ensuring that our services are accessible to everyone, regardless of the season.

The barn will also enhance our capacity to host volunteers and provide job opportunities within the local area, as well as support sustainable farming practices and animal welfare education. We are passionate about fostering connections between people, animals, and nature, and this project will allow us to significantly extend our reach and impact.
