The idea
This 6-month initiative aims to improve mental health & social connection in Swale, tackling significant health inequalities where over 20% of neighbourhoods are among England’s most deprived. With anxiety, depression, and isolation above national levels, weekly inclusive sessions will combine collaborative music making, percussion, rhythmic movement, stretching, guided relaxation, and mindfulness. Open to adults of all abilities, including those facing mobility challenges or isolation, the programme offers a supportive space to enhance wellbeing, build connections, and reduce loneliness. Evidence highlights participatory arts & movement as effective preventative public health approaches that help reduce pressure on NHS services. With £32,500, we will fund facilitators, volunteer training, accessible equipment, outreach, and evaluation, delivering a scalable pilot that unites communities and empowers individuals through creativity & collaboration.
