The idea
Five years ago, when asked what 'one thing' could make the biggest difference to improving Martley Cricket Club and increasing the numbers of those that participate and spectate in Sport in the Village a unanimous suggestion was put forwards: A New Cricket Pavilion. A place that we could all be proud of, a place for all groups within the Community to benefit from through improving physical and mental health and community cohesiveness.
Through a close working relationship with Martley Parish Council and other local groups, Requirements have been gathered, Designs have been created and Planning permission granted.
A Sports & Cricket Pavilion for all those within Martley Village. A place for us all to enjoy and benefit from, individually, as families and as a community.

What we'll deliver
- A Sports & Cricket Pavilion (Phase 1 of Build - Building Shell. Phase II fit-out to follow using any excess funds))
- Full accessibility
- Cycle Racks
- Social Room (with Licensed Bar & Kitchen area)
- Storage Room for Cricket Equipment
- Viewing Terrace
Why it's a great idea
The Club's aim has always to be inclusive to all members of the Community. Young and old, male and female. English Cricket Board research states that the one thing that makes sport more accessible to Women and Girls is the facilities. The Club has already built a Ladies Washroom however this Pavilion will take things to the next level and to help expand participation in the Club's existing Women and Girls sections which have both already been thriving over recent years (40% of the Club's membership now being Female).
With a rapidly growing Junior section of over One hundred and fifty Under 15s an area for Spectators (Parents and Grandparents) is a significant need - this Pavilion will provide just that.
A Pavilion for all to use and benefit from, individually, as families and as a community through the promotion of healthier and more fulfilling lifestyles.
