We are seeking funds to complete the outstanding works in the kitchen, hallway and externals. Still required is the kitchen fit out and appliances and external rendering/cladding and insulation.
The wider project is to renovate and convert the old changing rooms building into modern multipurpose rooms, suitable for meetings, learning, yoga etc, as well as a good-sized modern kitchen.
Work is partially completed, with new windows, wall reconfiguration, plastering and flooring already finished in the community rooms.
We are extremely proud of the way in which our stadium has improved in recent years for the benefit of everyone and this additional funding support will allow us to take our offering to a much broader base of users, way beyond that of just football.
It is our intention that the hub will be in use on a daily basis, allowing us to host community group meetings and give us scope to offer various clubs/activities and learning opportunities for our local of all age groups.
What we'll deliver:
- A good-sized community kitchen and hatch
- New entrance position and smartened-up modern aesthetic
- Improved energy rating of the building
- New entrance/reception hall
Why it's a great idea:
The new spaces will allow us to increase the facilty's accessibility to a much wider range of users. It will also expand the types of use we can host at the facility. It's our intention to encourage a high footfall of varied users throughout the week, such as community group meetings, various clubs/activities and learning opportunities for local people of all ages.
It will also enable us to plan and deliver education, giving us a facility from which to deliver BTEC sports qualifications. Currently only The Chase sixth form offer this in the Malvern area.
Community planning and private meetings would also take place effectively from here, with groups able to use it as a base to plan their operations and tackle anti-social behaviour to divert young people into more positive activities.
Steps to get it done:
- To ensure the most suitable provider delivers BTEC qualifications, for the needs of the area.
- To have an actual car park rather than a plot of land that cars park on
- To have real curb side appeal including a secure and safe entrance.
- To increase our ability to positively affect our community by opening the community rooms.
As part of our long-term commitment to enhance our engagement with the local community, positive steps have recently been taken by the club.
The appointment of a part-time Community Development Officer has coincided with a project to turn the old dressing room block at our HDANYWHERE Community Stadium home into a Community Hub.
