We're in the process of developing a Dementia Meeting Centre in Malvern Link and in order to do so we need to make some changes to the room where we plan to hold it. To run the centre safely we need to upgrade the space to a new non-slip and accessible flooring as well as upgrading the toilets.
We want to transform the space over the next year and the floor and accessible toilets are essential to enable the centre to open in January.
Malvern desperately needs a Dementia Meeting Centre - we have significant numbers of people living with or caring for someone with dementia. This new centre will make a massive boost to their wellbeing, and enable families to live better with this condition.
What we'll deliver:
- Non-slip and accessible flooring
- Upgraded Toilets
Why it's a great idea:
Dementia Meeting Centres have been shown to make a huge difference to the lives of those living with dementia and those caring for them. We want to initially open the centre for two days a week, building up to three days a week. We'll be providing activities, safe spaces and entertainment for all those who attend.
Steps to get it done:
- Stage 2 Replace floor and install underfloor heating
Currently our nearest Dementia Meeting Centre is in Droitwich - we want to have one closer to everyone in Malvern.
