Making Margate

Create Happy is a Community Interest Group which recently received a micro grant through Social Enterprise Kent. It was set up to deliver workshops tosupport wellbeing, reduce social isolation and support the community to regenerate through the Arts.

The company is founded by artist/educator Kirsty Kennedy who has previously won numerous grants and awards including Reconnect grants to run activities at Quarterdeck Youth Hub and other youth hubs across Kent.

Kirtsy has a studio/gallery at 136 High Street, Margate CT91LA. (The rougher end of the high street).  Create Happy is currently situated at 176 High Street in Margate.

As a newly formed CIC, Create Happy requires invesment to esnure continuation and growth. Crowdfund support would be so welcome!

Our goal is to test and develop activities, run events and  showcase work from Community Groups in our space. Importantly part of our research and development includes finding ways to better engage youth. In time we would like to work with artists from multiple disciplines including music and dance to develop Art Award Programs. Ultimately we would like to work with various organisations  to ensure transformatoin, regeneration and to maximise potential within the community.

The Arts require a lot of space and storage and we have some way to climb. We're also interested in building an advisory panel and a volunteer director.
