Good Things Collective (GTC) is a community-led CIC, providing a home and platform for community-led arts, activism and enterprise. Together, we are working to build a self-sustaining ecosystem of activity that will support inclusive and ongoing social, cultural and economic growth benefitting people in Morecambe.
Our approach is not to work for people but with people, building a vibrant and diverse community of “movers and shakers” who get stuck in and help to make more “Good Things” happen in Morecambe. We are working hard to support our growing creative and socially driven membership to be as collaborative, aspirant and sustainable as possible. Often we do this by working on projects together as we learn a lot from each other when we do, but also, because we understand that together we can achieve far more than we can do alone. ?It also makes for a much more interesting journey.??
Our site houses 15 artists and enterprises, a network of subscribers accessing co-working space, and 36 members who actively support our organisational aims and programme activities. We provide Morecambe residents with affordable access to equipment, spaces and expertise both in the studios as well as our wider community of members and beneficiaries. There is space in our building for people to try out and pursue a variety of creative practices and processes, including painting, printmaking, textiles, crafts, gardening and other forms of socially-engaged activities.
Over the last ten years, we’ve been committed to making “good things” happen in Morecambe. We’ve run exciting events: festivals such as Make My Day and the People’s Bandstand; and “Slow Fridays”, a regular opportunity for like-minded people to get together to share food and ideas.
