Calderstones touchtennis has been set up to achieve all our goals, to bring social change and provide more inclusive sports to society whilst building community cohesion. Support from the park, council, local community and counsellors has allowed to turn this idea into reality. Myself, Tia Morris, a full time tennis coach originally came up with the proposed idea and have formed a team of trustees to help make it happen. Andrew Sanders, a business consultant and active tennis player is Going to look after the finances and is a signatory on the account for money going in and out of the bank account. Charlotte Osborne, a civil engineer is also a signatory on the account and an officer on the management committee to help in the daily running of the venue. Andrea Redmond, an accounts manager, is our designated safe guarding trustee and officer on the committee and with previous experience of being on her local church committee will be a strong, experienced officer. Finally, Christopher Semple who is heavily involved in the tennis community in Liverpool, an active tennis player and aspiring coach, currently undergoing further coaching qualifications. I am confident this strong team all of our aims and turn Calderstones touchtennis into a professional, inclusive, busy tennis venue for the city.
We are running this campaign as we see a need to make sports more inclusive and provide everyone with the same opportunities. Our goal is to have a diverse venue where everyone from our city can access tennis, whilst making a green space ustilised and enhancing an already popular park. In our current climate, outdoor physcial activity and community cohesion is vitally important and this is a project that will grow sports in our city, whilst increasing the sense community in our parks.
