The idea
Made in Bootle is not just an online platform but it will also run local pop-up markets with and for south Sefton independents. The aim is to support the local economy by supporting local producers who sell locally made items for local people to buy and enjoy.
Local independents include local bakers, artists, writers, cooks, allotmenteers, beekeepers, clothes makers, cosmetic producers, brewers, ceramicists or florists.
If you make and sell with items grown or created in Bootle then you can sell with Made in Bootle.
The idea came about from Andrea Ku of B 4 Biodiversity, and Ali Horton of The Gateway Collective, two Bootle founded CICs who have worked together in south Sefton since 2015. Through a love of nature and the environment, they also make and sell products grown or made in their south Sefton community gardens. Working with dozens of other makers, they realised a need for a platform for local producers to create a sustainable income for each other and Bootle.

Why it's a great idea
Made in Bootle will provide a platform for local independents to showcase their locally grown or made products.
We will provide a space to sell, network and grow together.
We will provide a networking space and forum for Made in Bootle independents to meet and learn from each other, how and where they work and support each others endeavours in being independent.
Made in Bootle supports the local economy where money invested in local independents stays locally
We will employ a local young person to continue to develop the project. We already have a young person working on a Kickstart scheme until early September. They are currently breathing life into this project however we would love Made in Bootle to sustain itself fully by the end of 2021.
