More about our impact
The environment
The communal 'environment' (as opposed to the natural environment) has been helped to maintain the need to consistently work towards doing something of value, to create a better society for us all to live in.
The local economy
The attendance at the festival undoubtedly helped local shops with their economic status, as attendees would have patronised them for food, drink etc which may not have been available through the festival stalls Community stalls at the festival informed us that they had made satisfactory sales on the day and this helped with their business income.
Volunteering, jobs & education
All of the festival roles on the day were provided by volunteers, with the exception of the staging company and the stall holders. Through these roles, volunteers acquired knowledge on stage presentation, stage management and festival organisation skills which they could use (and build upon) in future events,
Arts, culture & heritage
the Leicester peace & love festival helped to promote a highly diverse set of artists from different cultures and communities (who may not have had a similar opportunity with other local festivals) in our efforts to bring about community cohesion and peaceful co-existence. These artists performed music from reggae to dance and folk to rap and further added to their performances, the strong messages of community togetherness.
