London Sculpture Workshop seeks to set up a community ceramics hub and foundry to upskill communities through material engagement and widen participation in creative learning across all demographics.
About the Project Creator
London Sculpture Workshop is the first, London based, not-for-profit, community interest based company with exceptional facilities for artists and those interested in making work in 3D. London Sculpture Workshop offers a superbly equipped metal and wood workshop with additional mould making and ceramic areas. In addition to major equipment London Sculpture Workshop also provides a range of both electric and hand tools and access to Personal Protective Equipment for workshop users. London Sculpture Workshop is based on an open-access membership scheme and it was also set up as a Partner to CRISIS, offering their members access to a specially tailored educational programme.
London Sculpture Workshop was established in 2012 by two founding members Giles Corby, MA (RCA) and Jessica Mello, MFA (Slade) who work closely with our Studio Manager Melis van den Berg, MFA (Slade). We are all practicing artists’ who have a combined arts education of 19 years and teaching experience of over 21 years. In 2013 and 2014 our work was recognised and we were awarded a Chelsea Arts Club Trust “Artist’s Run Space Award”. In 2015 we were shortlisted for 'Best Community Arts Project' by Southwark Arts Forum.
