Beehives installed & the bees and their queens are home!6 years ago

Do you hear the distant buzzing? 🐝🐝🐝🐝 Last Thursday was a milestone for our project. After months of preparation, and with the help of our passionate contributors. We installed twenty beehives with native black queens (nearly half a million bees). These hives will take on a vital role in the biodiversity of London, while also serving as a learning tool & as therapy for our participants, local schools, and those interested in the world of bees. Thank you to all of our hosts who shared their space with our bees; our volunteers; our brilliant creative team; all of those who directly funded our efforts or supported our campaign in other methods. This is just the beginning, drum rolls please 🥁🐝

Beehives placed on sites! These three hives were placed in Hammersmith Academy just an hour ago! Dr Patrick and Vanesa -Hammersmith Academy- have been planting a lot of flowers for the bees. We look forward to offering honeybee therapy workshops to students there!

So, this is how we treat our bees, we'll always opt for natural and organic treatments! Thanks to your support we were able to purchase a great collection of organic oils that the bees benefit greatly from! Thanks again and stay safe.

We just received the first ten beehives! We are going to spend few days treating the hives with organic Tung oil to make them weather resistant and to give them a nicer natural look then once ready we are going to place them around the council and install the bees shortly after.

Planting for the elderly and helping them grow their own veggies locally ... while social distancing of course6 years ago

Helping our community members grow their own food locally reduces our reliance on global supply chains & limits our need to go to the supermarket while also offering a great source of food for our bees and pollinators.
